アメリカ在住のちんどん研究者・阿部万里江のエチオピア人仕込みのエチオピア歌謡と、京都・美山の山奥仕込みの下村よう子の音頭に様々な場で活躍中の関西在住奇天烈メンバーが集まり、ロックにサイケ、プログレ風味を加えて煮込んだ6人によるチャンポンバンド。
70年代エチオピアのジャズや歌謡曲に日本の民謡やムード歌謡、音頭も混ぜてグツグツ沸騰中！！！
An omnivorous band with an insatiable appetite, Ethiopiasia cooks up a musical storm by melding together 1970s Ethiopian jazz, Okinawan folk music, 1950s Japanese pop, and Japanese regional folkloric dance songs.
The Ethiopian stylings of the US-based ethnomusicologist and accordionist Marié Abe creates an unexpectedly delicious match with the inimitable vocal style of Yoko Shimomura, who grew up steeped in folk music of her native Miyama region in Kyoto.
Four other Osaka-based eccentric musicians from varying musical backgrounds add spices to this Japan-Ethiopia musical mashup with psychedelic and progressive rock flavors, serving up an unusual and unforgettable feast for your ears.
