UNCHAINED (US/FR)
Rooted in the polymorphous experimentalism of the 2000s East Coast underground, Unchained moves between intimate, home-recorded jazz, shimmering pastoral jangle, grainy synthetic rhythms, and humid ambient blur. In his two most recent LPs—Frontalier (2025, Stern Records) and Gabbeh (2024, A Colourful Storm)—Unchained strives to describe a new path for outsider jazz instrumentalism that remains committed to harmonic and rhythmic form while placing greater emphasis on sonic texture through experimental recording and mixing techniques.
貴水玲央 Leo TAKAMI　作曲家／ギタリスト
1970年 東京生まれ。
14歳でギターをはじめる。バークリー音大出身のギタリスト津村秀明氏よりギター及び音楽理論を学ぶ。ジャズ、クラシック、アンビエント、日本の古典音楽などを自身のルーツとして楽曲を制作しつつ現在に至る。
2012年、東京のレーベルFlavour of Soundよりアルバム「Children’s Song」リリース。2017年、カリフォルニアのレーベルTime Relased Soundよりアルバム「Tree of Life」リリース。2020年、ニューヨークのレーベルUnseen Worldsよりアルバム「Felis Catus and Silence」リリース。2023年、同レーベルよりアルバム「Next Door」リリース。米音楽メディアPitchforkの「The 30 Best Jazz and Experimental Albums of 2023」に選ばれる。その他、Apple Musicなどでの配信多数。
Leo TAKAMI　Composer/Guitarist
Born in Tokyo in 1970.
He started playing guitar at the age of 14. He learned guitar and music theory from Hideaki Tsumura, a guitarist from Berklee College of Music. He has been creating music with his roots in jazz, classical, ambient, and Japanese classical music.
In 2012, he released the album “Children’s Song” on the Tokyo label Flavour of Sound. In 2017, he released the album “Tree of Life” on the Time Relased Sound label in California. In 2020, the album “Felis Catus and Silence” was released on the New York label Unseen Worlds.
In 2023, the album “Next Door” was released on the same label. This album was selected as one of “The 30 Best Jazz and Experimental Albums of 2023” by the American music media “Pitchfork”.
